With a festive event in the Audimax, the Ilmenau University of Technology celebrated its 30th anniversary on 05 October 2022. TITK director Benjamin Redlingshöfer conveyed the warmest congratulations.
Benjamin Redlingshöfer presented a lithophany of the Heidecksburg to the president of the university, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Kai-Uwe Sattler. The ceramic relief image reveals a 3D effect when backlit or illuminated from behind. The lithophany shall always remind Sattler and his team of the partnership connection to Rudolstadt.
The TITK has been an affiliated institute of the TU Ilmenau since 2005 and has been working closely with the university ever since. While the TU conducts basic research in materials sciences, the TITK, as one of the leading private research institutes in the field of polymer functional and structural materials, transfers innovative developments to industry. Since March 2021, TU and TITK have held a joint professorship for plastics technology at the university. Many cooperative projects are also underway with the Thuringian Innovation Center for Mobility (ThIMo), which is based at the TU.
Basic research at TU Ilmenau and business-oriented research - not only at TITK Rudolstadt, but also at other Thuringian affiliated institutes - complement each other excellently. " This means that the entire research value chain is represented, all the way to transfer”, Redlingshöfer says.
