Antimicrobial tests
In our biological laboratory with safety level 2, we test antimicrobial substances, plastics and textiles for antibacterial and antiviral effectiveness against bacteria, fungi and bacteriophages. Our repertoire also covers tests for bacterial adhesion, microbial load and resistance of materials to microbial degradation.
Our microbial tests:
Test method | Test objective |
---|---|
ISO 22196 | Measurement of antibacterial activity on plastic and other non-porous surfaces |
DIN EN ISO 20743 | Determination of the antibacterial activity of textile products |
DIN EN ISO 20645 | Agar plate diffusion test |
DIN EN ISO 846 | Determination of the effect of microorganisms on plastics |
DIN EN 14119 | Determination of the effect of microscopic fungi (microfungi) |
DIN EN 1104 | Determination of the transfer of antimicrobial components |
ISO 21702 | Determination of the antiviral activity of plastics |
ISO 18184 | Determination of the antiviral activity of textile products |
DIN EN ISO 11737-1und Ph. Eur. 2.6.12 | Determination of the population of microorganisms on products |
DIN EN ISO 20776-1 | Determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration |
Ph. Eur. 5.1.3 | Testing for sufficient preservation |
Biocompatibility tests
We also carry out biocompatibility tests in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 10993 series of standards, which are essential for the approval of medical devices in particular. As animal welfare is always a priority for us, TITK only offers in vitro test methods that do not involve animal testing.
Our tests regarding biocompatibility:
Test method | Test objective |
---|---|
DIN EN ISO 10993-5 | Determination of in vitro cytotoxicity |
DIN EN ISO 10993-10 | Determination of in vitro skin sensitization of medical devices using KeratinoSensTM (extraction method) |
OECD 442 D | Determination of in vitro skin sensitization of solid and liquid substances using KeratinoSensTM |
DIN EN ISO 10993-23 | Determination of in vitro skin irritation of medical devices (extraction method) |
OECD 439 | Determination of in vitro skin irritation of solid and liquid substances |
OECD 431 | Determination of in vitro skin corrosion of solid and liquid substances |
